In terms of location, maintenance, quality and ambiance, Donalda Club's twelve har-tru clay courts are reputed to be the finest of any private club in Toronto, Ontario and all of Canada. Nestled in a mature subdivision of Toronto, away from highways and heavy traffic, the courts are surrounded by large trees and floral gardens in a park-like setting. The low member-to-court ratio is another attractive feature offering court availability almost any time.
The impeccable maintenance of the clay courts and surrounding areas by our experienced staff is second to none.
Six clay courts are covered by a heated tennis bubble from October through to April, offering top quality, year-round tennis to our members. The exceptionally bright indirect lighting system, the extra large playing areas behind and beside each court, plus the direct access to the bubble from the clubhouse put this bubble facility in a class by itself.
Programs and Events
The Tennis Committee, through its professional staff, offers a wide variety of year-round programs for members of all ages and abilities including several weekly doubles ladders, house leagues, winter and summer club championships, pro-ams and numerous other special mixed social and competitive events.
Juniors are kept busy with after school programs from September through June, and a summer tennis camp in July and August. There are junior winter and summer club championships, invitational tournaments, competitive teams, parent-child events as well as several other social competitive events.
The Pro Shop sells top of the line tennis clothing and equipment at competitive prices.
I’m very excited to be leading the squash program at Donalda Club for the 2011-2012 season. I am a certified coach with Squash Ontario. We have programs and activities to get new players on court and current players more engaged. Programs that we will offer this season are Squash Anyone clinics, Challenge the Pro Wednesdays, squash and tennis multi sport Junior clinics and squash/tennis social events.
I have been discussing best practices with other squash pros in the city to learn more about the squash community in Ontario. I look forward to seeing you on the courts this fall.
